Event Overview
The story of California’s timber industry is often told from a distance, but rarely by the people who lived it.
On Wednesday, April 15, join us for a powerful and deeply human evening as Cindi Anderson brings forward the voices of Nevada County’s logging community- stories shaped in the woods, in the mills, and across generations of work on the land.
Since 2017, Cindi has been interviewing timber workers to preserve their experiences- gathering vivid, firsthand accounts that might otherwise disappear. Her work reveals a side of history often overlooked: highly skilled individuals whose lives and contributions have been misunderstood, or left out of the conversation entirely.
These are not polished narratives or distant interpretations.
These are real stories: raw, personal, and rooted in place.
🎙 About the Speaker
Cindi Anderson is a longtime Nevada County local with deep ties to the timber industry. Having spent much of her life working in sawmills and in the woods, she brings a rare firsthand perspective to her storytelling.
She is the owner of Comstock Bonanza Press and has dedicated years to documenting and preserving the voices of timber workers — ensuring their stories remain part of California’s living history.
✨ Why Attend?
